Summer

In summer, numerous hiking opportunities await in the nearby, spectacular mountains of Tresero, Cevedale, Cima Piazzi, and Zebrù, as well as less strenuous routes on Reit, Vallecetta, and Monte Scale.

The Paluaccio di Oga nature reserve, near Forte Venini, and the Magliavacca plain in S. Caterina are also worth visiting in the summer. Here, in the early 1900s, there was an impressive pavilion of ferruginous water used to treat anemia, and Bergamo shepherds gathered their flocks of over 1,000 animals before reaching the high mountain pastures.

Cycling enthusiasts can enjoy numerous climbs to Alpine passes, such as the Stelvio Pass. Mountain bikers will also find numerous marked itineraries and trails in our mountains.

For lovers of silence and trekking, we recommend the Stelvio National Park, home to numerous animals, including chamois, deer, ibex, and eagles.

At Bormio Golf, you’ll find a 9-hole course, ideal for those who love practicing this sport during their mountain vacation.

For those who prefer to relax in the warm natural thermal waters of the Bagni Vecchi (used since the 15th century) and the Bagni Nuovi (opened in the 19th century), we also recommend the brand-new Bormio Terme spa, just three kilometers from Cepina. It offers a well-equipped thermal treatment department, a new wellness center, and a children’s and family-friendly area in the park, complete with waterslides and outdoor pools.

To complete your vacation, you can also visit Bormio’s medieval historic center and the civic museum, the Braulio bitter cellars, or take a trip to St. Moritz on the Bernina Express.

Winter

In the Alta Valtellina ski area, which includes Cepina, the 220 km of slopes in the ski areas of San Colombano, Bormio, Livigno, and Santa Caterina offer Alpine skiing at high, low, and medium difficulty levels.

For snowboarders, the Bormio and Livigno snow parks are equipped for a snowboarding holiday.

For Nordic skiers, an additional 80 km of snow-covered trails, located in the forests of Isolaccia, Santa Caterina, Bormio, and Livigno, offer a chance to spend peaceful hours in the open air.

For non-skiers, we recommend a stroll through the village or along the trails of the Stelvio National Park, perhaps with snowshoes.
The Bormio thermal baths, with three different spas: Bormio Terme, Bagni Vecchi, and Bagni Nuovi, offer a healthy and relaxing holiday.

Internal activities organized by Hotel Cepina

At certain times of the year, Hotel Cepina organizes photography exhibitions, themed weekends, and cultural holidays with local history courses, such as the rediscovery of the hot and cold water of Alta Valtellina, the use of fire in Bormio’s tradition, witchcraft, and herbalism.
